After discovering that Sublime had many, many features that I was not using or even knew anything about I thought it might help if I looked into some videos that might teach me some more.

I was introduced to Emmet yesterday, through a learn Flexbox tutorial. Today I found out that I can actually get Sublime to show me the actual colours, in the code, related to the hex numbers rather than putting it in as a comment to remind me.  Although I suppose that it is still good practice to use the comments. In case I have to use a different application.

It's not just about learning the coding!

The rules of HTML/CSS or the syntax of Javascript, it's knowing how to use the coding environments to their best advantage as well!  I currently have 3 installed on my laptop.  I started off with notepad++ which I thought was ok.  I watched some videos and was told Brackets is great give it a try.  So I did.  Its great, again adequate for me. Then in another video Sublime was mentioned.  I used it, again its ok I can get the job done with it.

I was using all three packages in a very basic way.  All I was doing was typing in the HTML, the CSS and JavaScript and only scratching the very surface of their capabilities. I could not see why these packages were so great and had everyone raving about them for what they could do.

I'm going to take the time to learn a bit more about the applications and what they do - it can only make my learning and coding easier.
